Tamezret is known for its woolen weaving, woven on vertical looms, then colored and embroidered in a long Berber shawl called bakhnoug. It is made of dark wool and decorated with lighter patterns. The weaving is done with very fine patterns. At the end of the weaving, the piece is immersed in a dye bath. The white wool takes the pigment opposite to the thread used for the patterns, which reveals light patterns on a dark background. This completely manual technique requires several months of work for one piece.
